I have an Colt H buffer that weighs 3.8oz but I do not know what the weight is for my Colt OEM carbine buffer tube and and spring. Does anybody know what these weigh exactly?

The reason I ask is because I want to swap these parts for the Vltor A5 kit with a Magpul ACS, and need to know what the total weight difference would be.

The Vltor A5 receiver extension parts (tube, spring & buffer) weigh 12.7oz. The ACS weighs 14.08oz. My current stock is a Rogers Super Stock and it weighs 7.3oz.

Thanks

Standard CAR buffer is 2.9-3.0 ounces.  The difference in spring weight between the CAR and the A5 will be negligible but the standard CAR spring is 1.8 ounces.  I do not have a milspec buffer tube just laying around but two commercial CAR buffer tubes I have weigh 4.1 ounce for a 4 position and 5.1 ounce for a 6 position, which seems bass-ackwards but they are what they are.
