OK, for all of you who do camo jobs on your rigs, What is the best FLAT paint to use on a RRA? I ve used paint that is sticky to the touch when IT IS DRY and other paints that are to glossy! Which or what brand will hold on tight and not smudge, be sticky or glossy? Thanks guys!!

BTW please share all tricks that will help in this process so I dont F***UP my BRAND NEW RIG!!

I clean everything with denatured alcohol the use Krylon camouflage ultra-flat paint. it wears off over time with use but that is an excuse to try some other colors.

I started to do that but after a while i just held a couple smaller ones about 6 to 8 inches in length in my hand as a spayed then moved to a different spot and did the same thing until i got the desired look i wanted.

JTR,

Thanks alot took some time about 2 hours to get it right and it holds up nice.  I live in Hillsboro, Oregon and hunt in the scappoose area sometimes might try near the eastern boarder for western general this year with a couple buddies.  How bout you?

I'm a bit South of you in Corvallis. never been a big hunter, just have an itch to paint a rifle or two. I've been trying to figure out how to do it and what type of paint to use. I've heard it's not good to mix enamel and lacquer. I'll swing by Fred Meyer tomorow to check out the selection. I'm thinking I'll start with a USGI M14 stock and see how that goes.

Best Regards, J
