Whatever happened to the M93 stock?  It seems this sort of came and went without me realizing it, yet now in retrospect I would like to have one.  I know that Ergo makes a knock-off, but would rather own an actual Magpul unit.  What years was this stock available for sale?  Thanks.

I believe Magpul sold the tooling to Ergo to produce their version, but they're still Ergo polymer instead of Magpul polymer.

I'm still running one of the early M93X prototypes on an intermediate range carbine. Got it back in 2003 if I remember correctly:

I like it.  It looks very Storm-Trooper-ish.

The included mini rail was great for mounting the tactical QD remote control and the tactical QD pill dispenser:

Low profile pill dispenser also available in OD:

That green dispenser looks familier...

Indeed it does sir!

In all seriousness, it still works great after all these years since you made it for me. It's still mounted to this day, and I've had lots of people ask me where I got it. They're always disappointed when I tell them it was custom built, and not commercially available

Does the 'B' model have any holes on either side for you to insert a helicoil? If so, MI makes a short rail section that is identical to the OEM Magpul rail that mine came with.

I was going to build one for my rifle - but the 'B' model didn't come with the rails.

Your next project should be to attach a small piece of rail using the QD plate screw holes.

I checked out the Ergo clone.  It's not an exact clone as the mounting system is a bit different.  Looks like Ergo simplified it and uses a variation of the telestock castle nut idea.  The Magpul M93's has a stronger lockup.

Mandatory pics of my M93B:

I'm still on dial-up and as your picture was loading I was thinking "How'd he get my rifle?"

Also in 6.8.

Ergo was the original designer along with Magpul.

Now Ergo has the rights to build the stock. Some differences...yes, better....maybe

IIRC the M93 was difficult and expensive to manufacture.  I think the UBR accomplishes everything the M93 did but is easier to make.  I have a M93 and it rocks, but when you look at it up close you does seems like it would have been difficult to make, plus the buffer tube is proprietary with the check peice fused to it.  Also kind of a bitch to install.  But i Like it a lot...haven't owned any other magpul stocks (yet) but i bet they are just as good if not better.
