And why do you prefer it?

I just use a regular A2 - based on the logic that it is "good enough for government work" and the flash out of a 16" barrel is not horrendous to start with.  Based on the pictures I have seen (someone probably has a link somewhere) the A2 does a good enough job, and I see no reason to spend the extra money for a slightly better one.

For my 10.5" AR, however, I use a Phantom - and it definitely makes a difference.

I'm sticking with the stock A2 on all of my AR's.

I saw the photo comparision test DK-Prof mentioned...the The Phantom was a little better than the A2, I'll give it that.

A2. It works and it came on the RRA AR.

A2. Its a sixteen inch barrel after all and OAL matters to me more than the ultimate in flash suppresion.

A2.

I spend my time fiddling with other components and don't shoot that often during the hours of darkness.  The A2 works.

A2 as it acts as a compensator by keeping the muzzle down better (slots only top seems to serve 2 purposes in this case).

I might get one of the Noveske Krink FH's for hunting this winter, though. I hope it will be a little gentler on my ears.

Phantom just looks too long so I put the A2 back on my Sabre Defence midlength.

Smith Ent. compensator.  1. my RRA Elite came with it and 2. It seems to be doing the job very well by keeping the muzzle down.
