I have a Colt 6920 and an EOTech to go on it.  My question is whether there's a big advantage to getting a LaRue mount for it if I'm not planning on taking the EOTech off regularly.  I want to raise the scope in order to get the the BUIS in the lower part of the scope but aren't there other mounts of equal quality that will do that at a lower price?  I know I'd be giving up the convenience of the throw lever but as I said, I'm not planning on taking it off much.  I'd like to keep weight down so I'm not thinking of the RRA Dominator.

LaRue is the only company with a mount that gets the Eotech up to the "correct" height. At least that I'm aware of.

YHM now has an EOTech mount that raises it up like the LaRue.  There is even a thread about in the optics foru.

Now you'll give up the quick release feature of the LaRue, but if the EOTech is the only optic you'll be using that isn't an issue.
