I was planning on building an m4 carbine set up
But isaw this and thought it was a good deal
Here is the info...
Some details: 20 inch, Match Grade 1:8 Twist, Stainless Steel Heavy Barrel with target crown and attached to a Forged Flat Top Upper Receiver. The upper was assembled and tested by Lewis Machine and Tools. The lower was built from a Stag Arms stripped lower and a Bushmaster 2-stage competition trigger and lower parts kit. Comes with 6-position collapsible stock, extended latch charging handle, see thru riser picatinny tri-rail mount, and a Pentax Gameseeker 3-9x40 scope with rings, and now also the bipod.

All that and a couple mags and a case for 750 ftf

I was thinking about buying this then getting a carbine upper for short range fun shooting
Any thoughts?

Is this going to be a bench rest shooter?

Although it was assembled by LMT... who actually MADE the barrel and such?

Whats the make on the BCG?

this used or new?

I'll ask more details about the upper parts
It is used
I would mainly use it for long range target or deer
But if a 16 in carbine with a scope can give me accurate enough groups out to 250 I probably would rather go that route

Ask as many questions as you can.

Whats the round count?

Yes, with a decent carbine upper you can definitely get Minute of Bad Guy/ Hunting groups at 250. Providing your a shooter with the skill to do it.

Check out the Daniel Defense uppers from Smartgunner. best deal on quality uppers at the moment.

Also consider a middy.

Can you send me a link to these uppers you speak of?
Also I thought middy just meant midlength as in 16in carbine
Am I wrong? What would a rock river entry tactical be?

Midlength refers to the gas system length. RRA ET is a carbine, carbine gas system.

Gas systems:
CAR - 7"
Mid - 9"
Intermediate - 10.25"?? (not very common)
Rifle - 12"

I'll bet that upper is an M&A kit... not bad but not worth the asking price!

How about we start fresh... What is your budget? what are your goals/intended uses for the gun?

Here is some more info....

"Barrel Started out as a Wilson & Mike Rock Barrel Blank (there are 2 major barrel blank companies in the world: Mike Rock and Shaw).

LMT took over everything after that, including cutting the barrel into a 556/223/22 caliber."

Then....
"Sorry missed the other part of your question.   Yes the Bolt and Carrier Group were also made by LMT."

Thoughts?

I don't know anything about the barrel company he mentioned

Why is the benefit of having a mid gas system vs car?
Also to answer your other questions
Budget is in the 700-850 range (all said and done)
Goals/use for the gun
Fun/target/varmint/deer/black rifle decease....
My in laws have property down in Arkansas that we hunt on
They also run a resort down there so we often have a variety of small critters to kill
From possum to wild boar
So I needed something accurate up to 300 yards
I like that .223 is cheaper than most rifle ammo and has enough punch to do these things
