Purchased a Falcon Industries Sure Grip Ergo Grip the other day. For about $25 you get the grip and trigger guard gapper, and a rubber cap that goes over the grip cavity at the bottom. BTW, the rubber overmolding is very nice. The grip is extremely comfortable.
Since I have this small storage location on my weapon, I've been wondering what the heck I could put in there. My A2 already has the buttstock cleaning kit, and the idea of stuffing extra rounds in the grip does not appeal to me. |

i keep one of the most important things in the world there....
Air. |
I have two Magpul MIAD grips that have the capability of holding a bolt and firing pin. All the others carry an emergency breath of fresh air, just in case.
Small spare parts? Stuck case extractor (Brownells sells them). Spare batteries if you have a powered optic? Neutral colored balloons in case you ever have to operate in the field (put over muzzle to keep water out).
Ear plugs? Packets of Aspirin? |
I put my boogers in there in case I get lost in the woods and get hungry
I've got only standard grips. So just a little bit of dust is all I store.
i carry an aimpoint battery and batteries for my pentagon light in my tango down grip.
Dope and Coke of Course.
Seriously a set of gas rings, a new extractor with Spring and Defender. The Star headed torx wrench for my aimpoint mount and 20 bucks worth of Colombian Money |
A couple of oxycodone tablets or other potent pain reliever would be a good idea. And ear protection.

I have the old Lone Star Ordnance Stowaway II (no longer made) grips on most of my AR's. I have a field repair kit consisting of firing pin, firing pin retainer, two sets of gas rings, extractor, ext pin, ext spring, hammer pin, disconnector spring, hammer and trigger springs. Yes, all that fits in there in a little ziplock.

Copy of the paperwork showing the lower receiver was sold as a pistol receiver. That way the paperwork is always available if any questions have to be answered.
If I had one? A few extra rounds or a cyanide pill in case I get captured on one of my secret, high danger missions. |
Grid squares and flight line.
Actually I keep spare earplugs and a broken shell extractor. |
I keep some of my paper work in there
Also bring condoms for "emergency purposes" |
I stuff as much TP in there as I can. That way when you are out in the woods and well you know.
I have a MIAD so I have 3 extra bullets
You know, in case I need three more bullets after I use up all 12 thirty round mags |
Is that really what they make mall security do these days? |

For my M4gery I keep extra ear plugs, extra firing pin/ retaining pin in a Ergo grip( I will replace this with another G27 as the Ergo grip is too small for my hands, and since its the only storage space, its too small for many extra parts)
For my 20" I keep an allen wrench for my scope mounts, and ear plugs in a Samco G27. I keep cleaning kit, stripper clip guide, extra bolt parts, and front site adjustment tool in the A2 stock. |
Personally, I just put secret stuff in there. |
smart man. you never know what to expect, and a good boy scout is always prepared. |

If you got the AMBI ERGO grip, take the plug out and put it in backwards. You'll be shooting right along, put the rifle down (or walk back into the shed in my case) and you'll notice you no longer have a grip plug.
If it's in backwards, it'll stay in better. I keep the opposite of everything in there WIZZO |
I'm telling you right now, that one gulp of fresh air in your pistol grip comes in handy, especially when bump firing under water.
Nothing... not even air.... I have a walnut sniper grip, no storage space..... guess I'm not prepared.
No Expert |
Since I'm in the desert I keep a quart of dehydrated water in there.
Seriously, don't have anything there but keep spare AA and DL 123 batteries in my SOPMOD stock and Tangodown foregrip. CD |
The SOP for the units I was assigned to while in the Army, was to place a white paper label inside the pistol grip that had your battle sight zero on it. It was covered with clear tape to keep it legible. So.........for old times sake that what I did with my three ARs.
why would you keep a form 1 in there? |
A collapsible grappelling hook, and 1000 pound fishing line. Never know when your gonna have to climb.
Actually i have some zip ties in there, but i'm not sure why yet. i normally have some ear plugs in it. I actually thought about filling it with an explosive powder and run a fuse through a small drilled hole. that way, when big brother tries to take it away from my cold dying hands, i can get one last supprise in before i kick over. (i obviously don't know much about making a bomb...) |

In case I run into someone that I need to show it to. With an NFA firearm, I think it's a good idea to be able to demonstrate that it is legal if someone asks (say at the range, or a police officer, etc.). The likelihood of that is happening is obviously low, but I'd prefer to have it physically with the rifle at all times. |

damn thats cleaver i thought you might say water |

The souls of my victims.
And a peppermint Life Saver to keep them smelling fresh. |
