Man, that M4 really does own you...
 I am SO KIDDING!! Teknic is right...btw Just spend some time with you rifle, a lot is revealed in handling it, function checking, etc... but you are doing the right thing asking and not assuming things about your weapon. |

The follower in the magazine under spring pressure push up the bolt catch as the carrier moves rearward and is pushed up infront of the bolt causing it to stop.Drop,reload and slap the catch and your back in buisness.

Haha yeah man. If you haven't noticed, I ask ALOT of questions on here. Just want to be sure about things. But man have I learned alot in the past month. Stripped down the bolt and everything today, I built the lower myself, so I know how everything in the gun works now. I'm gettin there slowly. Now I just need to figure out how to shoot it and clean it. |

Yeah I gotcha. I was just saying, I do ask alot of damn questions, and I usually get them all answered. I don't know where I'd be without this place. Went ahead and emptied my mag and gave it a function check. Very fascinating lol |

You can also drop, reload, and yank CH. That'll send the bolt home too. |

Two reasons I can think of 1) it keeps a consistant method to charge the rifle - building "muscle memory" 2) it gives slightly more velocity to the bolt carrier Personally I go for the consistancy. |
