As always, thanks for looking

Assuming that the AWB isn't replaced by something worse I'd love to hear what you have planned for your post sunset ARs.

My collection is pretty humble compared to most of you so I don't have a whole lot that needs changing.

Currently I own two prebans and a postban. After the sunset I'd like to thread the postban barrel and install an A2 hider. My prebans are staying the same except for a collapsible stock that I am installing now for my wife.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the four stripped lowers and parts kits I just received. I'm thinking of finishing one of them and then hanging on until I can legally install a preban upper.

How about you?

I will keep my Post-Ban in that config.  I will then start buying lots of pre-ban lowers for when the next AW ban goes into action.

Not a damn thing, My ARs are the way I want/need them the pre/post bad stuff means nothing to me. Unless my plans for the drive-by bayoneting come through. muhahahahaa

Then wouldn't all current "Post-bans" become pre-bans?

I have always wanted an sr25k but there were only 100 made before the ban and they go for up to $7000.  For those that are not familiar with the sr25k, it is a .308 with a 16" barrel, a KAC ff RAS and a Colt collapsable butt stock.

Also, I think a bushmaster carbon 15 with a collapsabe stock and a flash suppressor would be a handy and fun little gun.

I'll second the plan for an SR25K, hopefully with a URX upper.

That and one of each of the AUGs, 550s, and AKs that will be in domestic production.

I would shoot the crap out of my postban rifles then change back to preban.

I'd buy a bunch of Magpul stocks for my posties.

I'd have more SBRs.  11" barrels aren't as cool without collapsible stocks.

I'll install M4 collapsible stocks and get my barrels threaded for Flash hiders.  Never really had a need for a bayonet lug on an M4 so I'll let the liberals have than one.

CJan_NH, you ask the question " What are your plans for your ARs after the sunset?"

I really hate to sound like a broken record (or a scratched CD, for the young folk), but it is not a forgone conclusion that the current AW ban won't be renewed or replaced by something much worse, my friend. As gun owners, there is a lot of hard work ahead of us....

Lots of letters to write, phone calls to make, faxes & e-mails to send, money to donate, rallies to attend, friends to convert, arms to twist, etc...

To this end, I refer you & everyone else interested in helping to make a difference to... The Essential "End the AW Ban" Contact List & Sample Letter Thread

First the work, then the reward. It can't & won't happen any other way!!!

That's why I said "assuming that the AWB isn't replaced by something worse" in my second sentence [:)]

When the AWB goes away I have a few more arfs I need and probably an AR-10 or two. Here are some pics of what I’d like to get.

Colt 6700 configured like a C7

I’ll defiantly be switching all my post-ban rifles over to pre-ban configuration too.

The fight to end the AW ban is the biggest battle against the gun control movement in the last decade, and if we win this one, we could derail, defund, & demoralize the organized gun grabbers for many years to come!

That's what is "the matter" with me.

Besides... repetition works. It got your attention, didn't it??? [:D]

Well my leo gun will be mine upon retirement. My preban will not be affected. The only things I see of value that the ban affects is the flash hider and the magazines.

Nothing really special... assuming that the ban sunsets, just add to the collection I have yet to start...

I'll vote against the Democrats trying to take our guns, and continue to wonder when someone who's progun will beat feinstein in an election... and the same for shumer and all the other anti gun politicians...

When/if I get my Colt 6400c I will definatly get a real telestock for it, and even if I get a fake flash hider for it I will get a real one.

My Bushmaster (Shorty AK) will get a a real 6 poisition telestock. I`m probably going to get an upper with an 11.5 barrel with 5.5 flash hider for it.

 A common question...and a GREAT question!!!

first on my list...one colt CAR-15 style rifle

next....an updated M96 Recon with a folding stock

and lots and lots of magazines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, either an Vltor or MagPul stock.  Then I'd drive my upper to KKF to have my comp removed and get the threads cleaned up a bit for a new Vortex.

A collapsable stock, a roll of film (to record dates of assembly for when they impliment a new ban,) a new 'pre-ban' config. upper, and as many lowers/mags as I can afford.

Oh, and a grenade launcher  ;) (don't really need an overpriced flair gun.)

Hey J_gets,

How were you going to use the film to document assembly at a certain date in time?  I have been thinking about this and wondering the best way to have concrete evidence that something was assembled during a certain date range.  Seems to me that proving that something was assembled after a certain date is much easier (show the piece with a newspaper), but proving that something was made between x and y date is more difficult to do with a photo.  Just looking for ideas.

Flash suppressors all around

i have an ACE ARFX stock on mine now, i may switch to the boom stick.

question:
after the ban we still wont be able to get any more GI mags than we can now right?  cause i thought the gov has stopped surplusing their stuff haven't they?  so we would be able to get an assload of crapy USA mags and other worthless aftermarkiet mags.

 am i correct??

Could you get the photograph notarized?

I know, it’s a bit of a stretch but that would validate the date.

Hmmm, I would want an AR pistol with a flash hider and handguard like DPMS kittykat without the stock in semi-auto. I wonder if that would make a great backup conceal carry handgun. [;)]

I'm getting ready to retire from Air Force after 21 years in, so I plan on building 2 nostalgia rifles. One is a slick side upper, pencil barrel M-16 type. Other is a copy of the GAU-5, the Air Force version of the XM177. Do that one slick sided also, collapsible stock, with a lightweight barrel cut down to 12 1/2" with 4 1/2" XM177 style flash hider permanently attached to make the legal 16". Be just like the GAU I carried as a K9 handler walking perimeter fencelines.

i had to chuckle when i read the question because i thought "there's probably alot of folks who's only change will be keeping their rifle in one piece on the way to the range instead of two"

*disclaimer* that doesn't apply to me, i have a pre-ban.

as soon as the ban sunsets, i'm building a pistol.  7.5" flat-top
