I need a flash hider for a 6.8 with HBAR profile.  What are the best flash hiders?   I'm just interested in flash suppression.

Thanks.

My AAC blackout works great on my 5.56 gun

I've had very good luck with the Phantom flash hiders, compared side by side with the A2 at night MG shoots. I haven't tried the Vortex, but I've "heard" they're better.

Vortex hands down. Go to YouTube and see if they have the video o the vortex compared to the others. I think you can go to Smith's site and see a video comparison.

SEI Vortex. Or a suppressor.

I've got a Vortex on my Noveske.  I'm getting an ARP 6.8 and he only offers a few dedicated flash hiders (A2, his own 4 slot flash hider and the DPMS Panther flash hider).  I'm trying to figure out if I should just go with the Panther or if I should have him install something else.

Vortex, AAC Blackout, Phantom.....

I run a Vortex on a number of my 5.56 guns and an AAC Blackout on my 16 inch 6.5mm Grendel.

I have tested a lot of designs over the years.....

What's the difference between the YHM Phantom and the DPMS Panther?  They look awful similar.

Phantom

I have Vortex FH's on two of my rifles and AAC blackouts in two others.  IMO, the AAC outperforms the Vortex, but just barely.  The finish of the AAC is definitely better.  I also like that the AAC lacks the tuning fork qualities of the Vortex.  I have to give the trophy to the AAC, with the Vortex as a close second.  Anything else I have seen has marginal flash suppression.  The AAC and Vortex will virtually eliminate all flash from a 5.56.

First you'll need to figure your threading size.
Do you need 1/2x36mm or 5/8x24mm type hider?
Economic hider that does it very well and doesn't cost a fortune = phantom

I still like my YHM Phantoms.

AK-74 flashiders, especially if you don't like people shooting beside you.
