.243-.270 bullet, 100gr to 130gr, good cross sectional density and BC, shorter than 100gr .223 bullet for better case capacity. Velocity should be in the 2300 to 2600 fps range. Heavier bullet potential for special applications. Other option is to go to a shorter and slightly fatter case to keep the cartrigge within the the AR mag envelope. I believe the 6.5 and 7mm whisper already exhibit some of these traits. Just thinking out loud and would appreciate your opinions.

TX65, thanks for the info. The 6.5 PPC sounds very interesting. If only it would fit 30rd mags. However, I would definately be interested in getting an upper in this caliber. How has your functioning been? With all of the talk of stuffing a 100gr bullet into a .223 to gain better on target performance I am wondering why we just couldnt open up the case mouth and drop in a 6mm to 6.5mm round in the 100gr to 130gr range and call it a day. Bullets are readily available and have been used on deer size and larger animals for sometime with great effect. A quick barrel change and we are on the way. Are there any 6 x 45 reamers and die sets out there? Thanks again. T
