Personally, after a long day there isnt a huge difference betweehn M4 profile and heavy barrel with a 16 inch barrel.

If you are talking 20 inch barrel there is a significant difference.

It also depends on if you will have a rail and accessories on the barrel.

W/O accessories I do not mind a 16 inch heavy barrel.  But start adding stuff and weight really becomes a factor.

i currently have a 16" AR with Arms SIR a vert grip and bipod and it gets heavy shooting off hand after a while.

i wonder how much weight i would be saving from the medium profile vs the Hbar profile on an ABS bbl

Go heft some around for a bit and make your decisions then.

ETA: sorry for the mistaken idenity!

I've heard and read some good stuff bout Denny's recon barells, but didnt he just come out with a different one as well?

Dont pass up Adco or JTAC either.  They both have some good deals on a mid-weight mid-length barells.

Since no one yet makes a skinny midlength 16", I ordered a Sabre Government profile midlength, and will have the barrel in front of the gas block milled down to .625". Sweet!

Pencil barrels are the best.

Not really a "pencil" (I HATE that tag!)

Standard lightweight is .575"...I feel the .625" will handle the heat better and reduce walking during long strings of fire, while still being "lightweight"...
