But now they won't.  Clean magwell, mags work well in a different lower, just like they used to in this one.  Upon close inspection, I see what appears to be very shallow pits, possibly holes in the anodizing, at wear areas inside the magwell.

This lower used to drop mags reliably - now I have to yank them out.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated; it's getting annoying.

Did you remove the magazine catch and see if the magazines are still retained by the pits in your magazine well?

There was a thread awhile back where a member had mag seating and drop free issues ... turned out to be his mag catch button had cracked in half but he didn't know it until he removed the mag catch to inspect it and the button fell out in two pieces.
