Is it noticable? Heck yeah.
The difference between a 20" HBAR and an A2 is 1 pound (feels like more because the weight is handing on the equivalent of a lever). The difference between a 16" HBAR and a 16" M4 is half a pound. Depending on gas system and how you intend on profiling your barrel you can shed 3/4 pound to over a pound with an 18" barrel. |

well i'm going with a midlength gas system and regular hand guards at the moment. I'm hopin that won't make it too heavy.

Barely able to be shot offhand comfortably is a better description IMO. Once you scope it and load a full mag its not light anymore. |

To me being able to hold the rifle on target for a while helps in accuracy  and mobility
Get a good crown on it and you should have no worries.... imo |
