I have built AR carbines and I am building my first AR 20" rifle with a fixed stock. I'm having trouble figuring out
where the small black washer goes that came with my recoil spring and buffer on my A2 fixed stock.
It is not the rubber washer that was already inside the stock. I read this guide but it does not show it.

Well...discovered what the washer was used for. It is a flash hider washer Del-Ton added with my barrel.
Not sure if it is needed with a Smith's Vortex flash hider.

It's not needed for the Vortex, but man I was scratching my brain - if it wasn't the spacer he's talking about then what the hell is it? That's like finishing a project and finding an extra screw the manufacturer put in as an extra and didn't mention it.

Might as well save it for a new build. You can't have an extra crush washer laying around.
