You can get all but the lower receiver shipped to your house(they consider this the firearm). You picked a tough time to get into this hobby though Check out the build it yourself forum

AND WELCOME!  you just caught a new disease...

As Kevin said, bad time to get into this hobby. (I'm right there with you though )

Everything but the lower can be shipped to you, you need an FFL for the lower. Some good brands are Colt, Armalite, and Bushmaster.

As previously mentioned, it is a bad time to get started, but it can be done.

For lowers, check out Essential Arms.  I ordered a lower with a LPK on 1/16 and my FFL had it on 1/22.  An EA stripped lower is going for $100 and $105 with tough coat.

For uppers, keep checking with PK Firearms and Bravo Company, but you have to keep checking their sites as uppers are listed as they get them.  Each has kept prices realistic given the current environment.

PK carriers Bushmaster, RRA, and their custom uppers.  Bravo carriers BCM uppers which are well regarded by folks here.

All the uppers I've listed have been in stock at one time or another this month.

Might want to check out http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=121&t=636628

I have my rifle on order from Stag now and although I did not go through this group buy I was told by a FFL friend of mine that it is a very good deal.  I have had a couple of very helpful conversations with Pete from Legal Transfers and expect to do business with him in the future (I just happen to have a friend in the business).

Good luck

I would suggest that you do some research on your own rather than asking for opinions - you're going to get multiple answers to all your questions. All are valid, and all are good answers. But some of the stuff you've got to answer for yourself - what are YOU looking for.  Try going fully through the thread linked below:
