Hey guys I am getting ready to drop that big coin for an ACOG but have a quik question... I am wanting a TA31A or TA31F. The pics on the Trijicon site show these with the flat top addapter on them. Is this the way they all come? Reason I ask is this will be going on an A2 carry handle and dont want to order something that will not work for me. Thanks a ton...Josh Newton

Most have the M16 base mount, I guess you can get the ring base mount but its a special order. item.

In the pic they are using a TA-51 mount to hold it up.

TA31F comes with the flat-top adapter, the TA31A does not.

Good luck! The few Acog's that's out there are pretty much $1000 bucks plus!

I'd sooner ditch the TA51 mount and get an ARMS 19S, but seeing that you have an A2, I guess none of this matters.  But unscrew 2 screws on the bottom of the TA51 and you can mount it on the carry handle.  My TA31 came with a washer for just such a purpose, maybe you would use the screws you liberate from the TA51 to secure the washer and the scope on the carry handle....dunno.  I think you should get a flat top, mounted on the carry handle will place the scope rather high and give you a bad cheekweld.

So the TA31A and TA31F will fit the A2 carry handle?

Normally I'm not crazy about optics mounted on a carry handle, but the ACOG is an exception.

The height is just about perfect for me, even without a cheekpiece. You can transition to irons instantly with just a small move of your head.

Hey CJ, why dont you sell me that?...lol...

I have had a offer for a TA01B which is technically for a .308 but will this really matter since I only shoot a couple hundred yards max?

Don't you want a TA31 though?

The TA11 is the "three blind mice" ACOG, intended for blind old bastids' like me

I would like to have a TA31 series but I think I have a trade set up for Sunday for a TA01B. It is callibrated for .308 but I dont see why it would not work for me at the ranges I shoot. Someone step in if I am wrong, please...

It is just a scope not a BAC style ACOG, but the 308 reticle will work will with 75/77 grain ammo.

It really is worth waiting for a BAC ACOG. That little fiber optic tube makes a big difference in usefulness (and I generally like those reticles better than the TA01 series).
