ducati650.Now you are set up to shoot the second saturday rifle run & gun at tri county gun club in sherwood OR.If your not far from 205 its 45 minutes. Then you will know the real deal when people talk about how bad or how good it is ,much better than from target shooting or plinking .I made mine better with a JP dot on top.Shoot this match a few times and you will know why.

Very nice! Are you a southpaw?
Link Posted: 10/30/2004 9:18:39 AM EST
Roger on the southpaw. It was nice to havesomebody ask instead of telling me the sidesling adapter is on the "wrong" side. I get this even with the Ambi safety showing.

how close does the brass come to hitting you in the face when shooting?
Link Posted: 10/30/2004 10:23:48 AM EST
Never had a problem. In fact I've never even noticed.

Kevin,
To give annoying Canadians something to think about other than hockey, that day in July that passes for summer and Molson, hey.
Thanks.

The BUIS is a Knight's 300 m. I shoot M193 and the TA31 BDC is a better match when mounted on a flat top than the "F" is when shooting M193. At least according to the BIG ACOG BDC chart pinned above.

awesome!

nice rig.

Ducati650,

I am also left-handed, but I am right eye dominant.
This means I must use my AGOG/carbine only off my right shoulder.

Its not big deal to me, since I do some other things right handed, but the eye dominance dictates scope use. Especially "two-eyes open" ACOG use

any factor for you?

Thanks Z. Couldn't be happier.

Red,
I am "left -eyed" as well as left-handed. I've only have the 31 a day or 2 but so far, playing with at home, it seems to work fine. Sometime I have to concentrate a little more that with my Aimpoint but I'm sure it will get to be second nature with a bit more practice. I had a triangle compact acog a few years ago and got the BAC effect pretty easily.

Thanks everyone. I am flattered.
After trying almost every new, hot item to come down the pike, I keep coming back to this set-up. It has a KAC RAS, vetical foregrip and M4-QD flash suppressor. The BUIS is a KAC 300m and though I like the 600m on my SPR better I see no need to replace the 300.
Along with the DPMS ambi safety, it has a Norgon ambi mag catch. This is a great addition, even for right handers. I sometimes use the thumb of my right hand to drop the mag. I could see a right-hander using his left thumb on the ambi catch. Sometimes it is real handy to keep a firm grip with your strong hand and push the catch while gripping the mag with your week hand. I read a few years ago that the The Marine Corps 1st Force Reconnaissance Company used this same set-up on all their M4s.
Here is a link to a good article in case you have not read it:

Part 3 deals with the weapons.

Pretty good read

I had to laugh--admiringly- at the reference to the ACOG

"This is a solid telescope, and in a pinch could probably be used as a hammer."

I liked the line too.
