I just went to wally world to buy several boxes of WWB .223 ammo.  It's been $7.73 a box as long as I can remember (10 boxes = $77.30).  Well, the price has jumped to $9.98 a box!! That's a 30% increase in price  WTF??  The guy behind the counter said that Winchester just raised the price yesterday.

Has anyone else seen this huge price increase on WWB ammo?  The .40 S&W ammo also jumped up a few dollars a box.

I can see upping the price a little...but 30%!!  That's nuts!

If your Wally World hasn't done the price increase yet...got buy all you can before they do!

Are you sure this isn't the varmint value packs?  If not, that sucks.  I hope UMC keeps their budget line cheap.  It used to be just a few cents more than the WWB stuff.

I just paid 77.30 for a case 2 days ago and 4.63/50 for a case of 9mm.

The weird thing is one Wal-mart near me still charges 4.63 for 9mm and another one about 5 miles away charges 5.99 for the same stuff.  Neither one carries the 40 round .223 VP very often but another Wal-mart about 7 miles from the first usually has some and at 7.73.

I hate to say it but if I were a manager at a Wal-Mart and I couldn't keep that ammo on the shelves then I would be raising the price on it.  Damn supply and demand economy we have.

Oh crap.  I'm going out after work tonight to the 2 other Wal-Marts in the area to clean em out.  I just bought 4 boxes yesterday.

Looks like I might have to start considering Wolf.

I bought my first ar bushy in Nov. and started picking up about 10 boxes of wwb a week, sometimes more. Today , after not buying for a while I went to wally world and got 10 more boxes @ $7.73 just south of Tampa.
That brings my number of 40 round boxes to 224hock.gif,  do you guys think that enough or should I keep going.  I also put away 2500 rounds of XM193 And 2500 rounds of 308

Silly, stupid rabbit. Thats over $1500 in ammo. For that price, you could have picked up a Lock-N-Load progressive, dies and plates for every caliber you have, AND reloaded 1000s of rounds-price of components included. Sometimes I just dont understand why people spend sooo much on factory ammo and ignore the deliciousness that is reloading. hinking.gif

Never hurts to have fresh, once-fired brass.

Hey Lex, Ive  had a Dillion 550 and a Lee pro. since 1993.  Up out of the blue one day I found out that I can make more money at my job than I can save by reloadinghave

That's just my luck. My local Wallyworld never seemed to have any of the 55gr value packs until recently. I just picked up a few boxes a week or two again and haven't even tried it yet and the price goes up

What I don't get is why didn't the other WWB value packs go up? Not that I'm complaining or want them to but why just the .223 stuff?

I just bought some a few hours ago for $7.73. I went ahead and bought all the boxes they had (10) since I had heard the prices were going up.

I only have 1400 rounds of it left.  My POF sure likes it though.

I stopped by Walmart this afternoon. The guy at the counter confirmed that the 9mm value pack went up in price even though he hasn't had any in stock for the past week. He also said that Winchester is also going to discontinue the .223 40rd value pack. He's not just a useless body standing behind the counter. He's a shooter himself and has several  NFA firearms so I take him a little more seriously than most people working at Walmart.

Went up to $9.98 today.

Looks like the only ammo I'll be buying is the UMC stuff, then because it's still $3.99 a box.
