Getting ready to set up a SIR.

Surefire M900, without a doubt. There's nothing else like it. Second choice is easily the Dieter CQD grip + Surefire M97xx side mounted light.

No Doubt Surefire M900. As for "non illuminated" foregrips, I am EXTREMELY happy with my AAC vertical foregrip on my M4A3.

I would wait the few months till the new Tango Down (Battlegrip) foregrip comes out: Features of the Vertical Foregrip according to TD LLC: Dual Locking Bars That Guarantee Positive Rail Attachment- The existing grip currently in use by the US military fails easily when force is applied laterally. The plastic attachment 'pin' shears quickly, allowing the grip to slide uncontrolled on the 1913 rail. Storage Capacity- An o-ringed screw on end cap allows water-proof storage of an entire spare M16 bolt assy. Batteries and/or other small parts may be substituted. Cap is retained by a leash, and cannot be lost. Pressure Switch Pocket- An integral pressure switch pocket alows positive mounting of pressure switches for lights and lasers. No more tape, velcro or inner tube mounts that come loose or fail. Switch stays where YOU put it. When not using switch feature, supplied filler panel takes its place. Superior Shape- Larger diameter shaft allows proper weapon control and retention. 'Extruded' grooves fall easily between fingers allowing maximum grip, even when under full auto fire. This grip was designed for M249 duty.

if you desire the coolest and most expensive grip available, the Surefire M900a is the way to go, make sure you get the turbo head also, that is simply amazing. If you want the best grip with out light on the market, I think the pre-production Tango down fore grip is the ticket. once you see the grip, you will think why didn't I think of that. btw, the storage shaft will also fit a spare M16 bolt. maybe even a M249 bolt, I was asked to take a measurement of the M249 bolt for the good guys at Tango down. For mounting on a SIR, M900 is you best choice. since the SIR has a wide profile, it is odd to have your light mounted on the side rail. it just stick out too much. and the M900 look too cool on a SIR. How about the optional ARMS #23 w/ angled mount? Is it better? Can a Duckbill be retrofitted onto the #23?
