What FN says: chrome.

Norm is stainless or chrome-moly...

The various 'sniperized' M16 variants use SS barrels...

Most CMP guns are SS or CM...

FN is being an odd-duck by chroming their SPR (not to be confised with the SPR M16 variant)...

Basically, chrome lining is for machineguns, assault rifles, etc...

Precision weapons are not chromed...
