Hello, I need to know what a Knights RAS is worth. I found one at a local shop for 79.95$. It is used, with some wear on the rails, but the top half is in perfect shape. Price includes a vertical fore-grip.

Wow, for that price I'd make sure it's not an Airsoft one.   They normally run around 300ish plus 40ish for the front grip.

I looked at it a couple days ago. I know it had the Knights Armament name on the inside. It looked to be authentic. I called the shop, and had them hold it for me. They told me it came from a local LE officer. I'm probably going to sell it on this site, if any one is interested.

I will check it very closely. This RAS has three rails on the lower half of the hanguard, the upper half is a sperate piece, and has a single rail on it. The upper handguard appears to be in perfect shape. I did'nt look at the vertical grip too close, but I will this afternoon.

Upper handguard should hav ethe three rail and the lower handguard is the single rail section.  like PaulE mentioned, the Airsoft version is build exactly the same, it have a slpit just like the real RAS, with 3 ail section on top and the single rail section for the lower handguard secion.  the Airsoft will also have the locking tap by the delta ring.  believe, those Airsoft is so realistic it can scare you.

If you can take a picture, you can send it to me @ [email protected], i will post them for you and we all can see it.

You are correct, I was looking at it, and noticed the T,B,L, and R before the numbers on the mounting slots. The vertical grip is also made by Knights Armament. The upper half of the RAS has:
Knight's Armament
  Company
Vero Beach, FL
  04/25/00

The U.S. Pat. number on top, between the T14 and T16 slot is:5,826,363
The bottom half of the RAS has a heatshield, with a arrow. The arrow has "forward" inside it. The Knight's logo is in the middle of the heatshield, with "K A C" down and to the right of it. This is followed by "Knight's Armament Company". This RAS came in a bag that has a bar-code at the top, followed by:
1005-01-453-1633
CAGE 1S002
P/N 12973099
HANDGUARD,LOWER
1 EACH
DAAE20-97-D-0020/0014

Sorry, I don't have access to the proper equipment to do the pictures.

I work at KAC.
The air-soft versions are very difficult to tell from the real deal, especially their copy of the forward pistol grip.
However, they don't duplicate the Gov. Contract Number and P/N lable. Our comercial issues of these products also do not have this labling.  My guess is that you found some stolden government property.

Thats not good. The gun shop owner said it came from a local P.D., and he knew the officer very well.
