Has anyone ever had a vortex flash hider bored out to 9mm? I have had it done to other flashhiders but I wonder if the tines are too close together. Does anyone have a vortex and can you see if a 9mm bullet will fit in between the tines.

I didn't bore one out, but I got a factory 9mm Vortex from Smith Enterprises earlier this year. Unfortunately, I had ordered a 5.56mm one, so I sent the 9 back. Found out later that the 9mm Vortex is a special order that runs $100+ if you order one; I was only charged the standard $40 for mine. Shoulda kept it and sold it here, I guess.

If you have a 9mm Oly the threads are probably 5/4x24TPI which is what the .308 vortex is.

It's nice to know they're available. I've never checked muzzle flash with a 16" 9mm bbl but I can't imagine it would be much. For shorter bbls, it would probably do a bit more.

If your barrel is not thread all ready, you could thread it for the 5.56 FS ,and bore the end out just oversized like my smith did on my Phantom FS

I know the hole can be bored out. I was just wondering how close the tines are together.
