Who sells a Post Ban slab side lower receiver? It seems like those raw forgings would be hard to find.

Sure, I'd go for one. To go with this. Barrel assy. from M-614, upper from another member. Three prong FH is on the way, looking for a slab side upper, large pin too.

There was a discussion earlier about this and somebody mentioned that they know a manufacturer that might produce the A-1 lower, Colt gray finish and all. I forgot his user name but do a search for SP-1 or A-1 and you should be able to find it. It's been a couple of weeks since I've heard anything so  it might not happen. By the way I have that same A-1 upper that needs to get built so I might just get a standard lower refinished in the Colt gray to match if I don't hear anything soon.

If you are talking about slab sided lower, that just sounds like some mill work.

Nice camo and although  I am used to seeing it the forward assist is realy useless if a round dont chamber do what you would on any other rifleM14,AK pull on the handle eject the problem round and chamber a fresh one.If it wasnt so much to have buy new uppers Id convert.

I'm the one that posted about the M16A1 style lowers. I'm still waiting to hear back from the manufacturer about having them built(cost, number of units required, etc....).  Any one that needs A1 parts let me know or check the EE for my posts. I'm in the process of selling off a bunch of Colt A1 parts and accessories.

I have a slabside but I sold the original upper and bling'ed it out.  I don't like the slabside, would trade it for a non-slabside - it's just that this was a Colt (collectable/investment value), I already had it, and it is a pre-ban...

I def thing a slab side lower would work for many of us....

Does anybody have a connection with an owner or somebody that would be willing to make a slab side lower?

Colt-653 said he's in touch with a manufacturer so hopefully it will happen soon. If you read this Colt-653, can you get in touch and see what they say?

speaking of older ARs......at the recent gun show here, SHERLUK had a brand new upper that was a copy of the early M16 upper.....no forward assist, thin barrel, triangle handguard, 3 prong FH. the only thing that strayed from the original, it was a 1/7 twist, instead of 1/12. the price was outrageous 400 some odd bucks....and it didn't even come with a bolt group or charging handle.

still for those folks that gotta have that type of upper, they'll pay for it...even if they have to shell out a addtional 100 some bucks for the bolt group.

Depending on cost and quality, I might be interested.  I've got an SP1 clone I'd really like to finish off with the right grip and slabside lower.  Currently its got a postban Bushy lower (with RDIAS), but it just doesn't look right to me (2nd down from the top).

I have a 1964 SP1 in good condition, but I was debating on restoring it or turn it into a High Speed, M4gery or SPReplica. What do you guys think.

BTW, The upper receiver assembly came from a early 1970's SP1. It's had a rough life.

Hmm....

You mean to tell me that a HI-point or Jennings may be collectable? Now there's an investment...

buy a $50 piece o junk now... hang on to it for a few years, and it becomes "collectable"

When the ban dies and my Essential Arms lower is worth $ 50 , I might mill off the mag release fence and reinforcements and make it a slab side ..
