Sorry if this is a dupe. Cabelas has their WOLF spam cans on sale now according to their website. The 500rd .223 cans are currently $84.99, down from $99.99. 9mm, 45ACP, and 7.62x39 cans are also on sale. Just passing along the info

I saw this deal a month or so ago, and they were already back-ordered then.  Maybe their ship will arrive soon..

Thanks for the Heads Up.  I just called, and she told me they don't charge until they ship.  Not sure how it will work out though as it only charged me $16 on 6000 rounds.
Don't need the ammo right now, so I can wait on it.  She also said that if I buy it at the backordered price, it won't get raised when it ships.  We will also see about that.

Cabelas won't bump it when it ships.  My experience has been that they honor their prices (unlike other places such as Sleazmans Guide).

Very, Very Good To Hear.  I was hoping someone would chime in with some personal experience.  Thank you.

I wanted to check S&H.  As a test, I added a bunch of tins to my cart and stopped just short of authorizing a credit card charge.  It does indeed look like S&H would be capped at $16.95.  I offer no guarantees, obviously.  I really do not know where you can get Wolf black box filled tins any cheaper.  Some might be able to use some mojo at Sportsman’s Guide and get approximately the same price, and possibly a tad cheaper.  If you order a bunch, though, it would seem that when S&H is spread out over numerous tins Cabela’s would be the way to go.  I personally do not plan on ordering any as the prices are higher than I will pay.  Good luck.

It's much more complicated than that.  Wolf ammo has its good points as well as it's bad points.  There are also many types of Wolf ammo, some of it a lot better than others.  There is brass cased mil spec and steel cased blasting ammo.  There is polymer coated and laquer coated.  This is why it is best to read the Faqs.  Your question cannot be properly answered in a quick blurb.

You will hear people tell you that Lucifer himself made this ammo and you will hear people like me say they don't have any problems. I run Wolf through my AR15's, M16's, AR180 and Norinco .223 AK47. The only weapon that it won't run in reliabily for ME is my Vector V53 (HK93 clone)

thanks,
Ron

Thanks and understood, I have read the FAQ's numerous times and I think I have come to this conclusion...use what works for you

The AE stuff was the first ammo I used on my first AR and it worked great S&B worked good to, so I think what I have learned is to stick what works and if I have to pay a little more I guess I have to.

No offense taken by your post I completely understand. I am learning ammo is like religion, everybody has their favorites...but I know mine is right

oh...and a PS...

Cabela's won't sell to those in IL unless you are a FFL.....very sad...

Ammunition to go is my friend, when I first bought my AR a few weeks or was it months (it's a blur all the money I have spent since then)

They had a bunch of AE 62gr and S&B, I bought a lot....but I guess not enough since they are out

I get a lot of ammo and bullets for reloading from them strictly for their shipping policy.  It really pays off on heavy stuff.
