I currently have a 20" upper that I am looking for a free float for. How sturdy are the Bushmaster Varmint handguards? All I really need is the free float and the bipod stud that is already attached. Anybody have any experience?

I have a Bushmaster Varmint FFT on my Rock River. I have had it for about one year and like it, its very sturdy- well made. It can get a little hot to the touch, from the sun, but I usually don’t hold it. I shoot mostly from the bi pod.

Huh?

You have many options available and what sounds like to me is the National Match free float with the National Match configuration.

You also have Free Float tubes, ARMS etc, etc, etc.

Initial plans were for the Larue 13.2 .... I have the 7.0 on a carbine and love it but I really dont need the extra rails. Figured I could save money by getting a Bushy FF on their varmints since the Larue seems overkill for what I am looking for.

If your just building a critter slapper get a standard tube and save some money, standard tubes are around 30.00 and up.
