I bought a Green Mountain barrel that is 41V50 steel.  From searching various forums I've found that vanadium supposedly makes the steel "stronger".  I have been unable to find any other barrel manufactures or gun makers advertise 41V50 steel.  Does the vanadium truly make a 4150 barrel stronger?  Any info is appreciated.

Yes it does. In alloys it will increase the strength by forming stable nitrides and carbides which make the steel stronger especially in heat related applications.
