Here is a short video clip of a stage last week at a 3 gun match in Colorado. Just thought I'd share it. It was a lot of fun.video

Thanks for sharing.

What type of AR are you runnin'?

Is it a midlength?

What is that white stuff all over the place?

Wish we had some....

Nice video, a 3 gun in the snow would be awesome!

Whats "bowling" a pistol draw?

My AR is a RRA elite car a4 "mid length" . I really like this rifle, and yes, the shotgun is a Beretta 1201. It has been a very good shotgun.

I'm guessing it means swinging the pistol up like you're at the bowling alley -
versus getting it pointing at the target asap and bringing it up.

or something like that.

That's hard to do when you have a vest full of rifle mags on you. Your pistol catches on your vest.

What's with all the "Shoot 3, Reload" stuff?

The shoot 3 and reload stuff was just what was required on that particular stage. I guess the match director just wanted to see who could reload mags. Normally, you start with a full 30 round mag and go from there. I agree, some of the rules can be counter-productive. We are able to re-holster a hot gun but the requirement is to say "safe" when doing so. Long guns must be emty or on safe when put down. Anyway, it is a lot of fun and very addicting.

That looked like a lot of fun! It's nice to see folks out shooting. That smile at the end was priceless.

Gonna have to give a +1 to Big bore's comments. There has to be a way to adjust your gear so you can draw properly.

These comments aren't meant to nit pick, just positive criticism.

2IDdoc and bigbore- No offense taken. I can use all the help I can get. Bigbore, you are correct. The angle of the draw was poor.  I should look at getting a different vest that does not hamper my draw. I actually wouldn't mind just having a couple of rifle mag holders for my belt, and just do away with the vest. Any ideas ? thanks

The vest is fine if you need it for a specific purpose. As a civilian myself, I can think of very few scenarios where I would need one, certainly not for a bump in the night kind of situation.  I've had good luck with those $17 kydex injection molded Bladetech mag holders. Two of them, and my rolly polly dump pouch are about as jocked-up as I get anymore. Three magazines has been enough to get me through most evolutions at classes, and you'd be fine at a three gun shoot.

If you really need to carry eight or twelve magazines the vest is the way to go, but it can be a bit of a pain if you only need two or three mags. That's been my experience. YMMV.

There are quite a few ways to go really. Before I had my blade tech mag pouches I would just stuff three or four mags into my dump pouch and use that by itself. It worked fine. If all you are doing is emergency reloads and are not worried about mag retention any pouch would do.

I don't mean to get too far off topic. That video was alot of fun to watch. It makes me want to get out and shoot. Good inspiration.

I didn't know that Bladtech made a cheap kydex mag pouch. That is what I originally wanted but couldn't find a cheap one so I just used the vest that I had. Honestly, this is the first match that i have been to that you actually needed 3 or 4 rifle mags on your body. Usually, one 30 rounder in the rifle and one stuffed in my back pocket will get me through the stage. I will check out Blade tech and see what they have. I will post more videos if anyone is interested in watching them. I know that I enjoy seeing other people's videos.  thanks

There are tons of matches in the Kentucky area.  There was a 3-Gun match this past weekend in Memphis.  If y'all aren't busy this weekend, the Area 6, 3-Gun Championships are down in Anniston, Alabama.  Head down on Saturday, catch little in the afternoon.  Stay the night, watch the morning and drive back on Sunday.  If you do, look me up and I'll walk you around, etc. and be happy to answer ANY questions that you have including the different sets of rules per division and governing body (i.e. USPSA vs. IMGA, etc.).

Cool vid.  If I am ever in a shootout at a Lumber Jack camp, I know who to call.  J/K
