Are there any LED drop-ins available that will allow me to upgrade the E2D to an LED bulb and still keep the original bezel?

TIA

The E2D LED Defender is the cats azz.  I highly recommend one.  Perhaps SF will sell you just the head?  I know that this will work on it, but it does not have the dual mode lamp the LED Defender does, and you lose the bezel:

Two cell drop in's are not in stock.

Thanks, I've actually been corrsponding with Steve Ku.  The 2 cell drop-ins are no longer in production

Bummer.  I bought a three mode drop-in for my wife's E1E and she could not be happier with it.

Just ignore my link....

The KL4 is only 65 lumens - same as what he is currently running.  Not much of an upgrade IMO other than he gets an LED.  The main advantage of an LED is increased lumens with the same or better run time.  Surefire no longer makes the KL4.

The KL4 was originally rated at 65, but revised to 100 when SF measured the actual output.  The latest KL4 with an upgraded LED now does 120 lumens and is still available on the L4.  Runtime has increased as well.

I would recommend saying bye-bye to the current head and getting one of the TNVC TLS E-Series heads. They perform extremely well, and the only weak point I've found so far is that the spring contact could use a little bit more solder on it.

I just received my drop in LED unit.

It is a night & day difference to the stock Surefire bulb.

Got my Veleno 2-cell drop-in too.  Works great in my E1E with an RCR123.
