The lower has a serial number engraved on it.  Are there any upper receiver markings you can use to identify a specific upper, or even group of uppers, by?  Thanks!

Older uppers with C markings were exclusive to Colt rifles.  Rifles made during the last 15 years or so will have a variety of forge die markings indicating the source of the raw forgings, but these raw forgings are used by multiple manufacturers, so there's no way to determine who actually did the machining and finishing to the raw forging.

So, no.

Only the forging [u]contractor[/u],as [b]Troy[/b] said, lots of companies use the same forgings.
