Anyone ever shoot this brand of ammo before?

I picked up 50 rounds of 55gr FMJ for $10.99 at Sportsmans Warehouse. The brass headstamping is identical to Federal XM193.

If this is decent ammo I might pick up some more.

Ultra-Max is all reloads of VERY poor quality...many PD's around the country had to threaten egal action to get them to take their ammo back. Very dirty and inconsistant...wouldnt run M-4's new from Colt. You should be able to get Black Hills for that price and it is almost better than factory !

Thanks for the heads-up. Can't wait to see how the box of 50 I have shoots. Guess I'll do some more shopping around.

Wierd...I've probably shot about 500 rds of it in the past with no problem--much better than UMC, which I've found to be weak. Safest bet is to pick up the Win Q3131A or Federal LC M193 from Ammoman.

I think that it's great plinking ammo. I have shot the remanufactured stuff and had ZERO malfunctions. I figure that I ahve shot/seen shot over 1000 rds. I suggest that you buy some for plinking. I wouldn't use it for self defence though.

Plinking ammo was what I had planned with it. Thought if it was any good I'd get few boxes each payday and start storing it up for next years shooting season.

$10.99 per 50! That's pricy for FMJ. Shop around.

First I'd heard of it. I am aware that there was a KB of an LEO rifle using Ultramax contract ammo. Having said that, I LOVE their 55 grain Nosler BT round - it always works perfectly in my rifle and shoots sub-MOA all day long. (I've got a heavy-barrelled target rifle, though.)
