Does anyone happen to know what brand of rifle sling the Marines use?

Green nylon sling.

Lots of guys go out and buy 3 points, but the issue is still the standard nylon parade sling.

Specter SOP sling is what I used and saw the most.
www.spectergear.com/sop_sling.htm

The SOB mamba is used some(sucks IMHO, I gave mine away), So are the Eagle 3 points.

IMHO, you would be better off with a Vickers Sling. Thats what I use now.

Bingo....just the regular old " j-hook" sling. That's all we ever had. My only complaint with them is that they are NOISY if you don't wrap the ends with tape or something.

Its alright if you take off the j-hook, and remove the metal cap on the end of the sling.

Any units go out and purchase something other then parade slings for their guys before deploying?

Some Marine units standard-issue a more advanced combat sling. The Marine Corps at large uses primarily a lowest-bidder 3-point sling but we are working to change that.
