I picked up a nearly new USGI M261 conversion for my AR. No mags with it, I see a couple listed on GB. In searching for information on sources magazines I found that Black Dog Machine has a dedicated version for it available from Midway. There were very few reviews and comments were mixed on reliability.
Any suggestions or additional information would be appreciated. Original USGI mags were only ten rounds versus BDM's holding 25 rounds. Currently one round at a time cycles but isn't much fun.

You might get more responses to your question in the pistol and rimfire section here on AR-15.com. I found on the BDM mags with bolt hold open follower for my AKT-98 (AK-22) I improved feeding by changing the angle of the follower. I really haven't tried the M-261 BDM mags but the design still allows more than 10 rounds which the M-261 mag insert provides. I think the purchase of one or two would be worth trying since you don't live in a state which has a mag capacity limit.
