I'm stationed at Osan AB ROK.  I thought I'd share a few pictures of the rifles that get passed out to us aircraft maintainers for defense.

I'm guessing it's a 604 with a FN A2 upper and a little elector pencil work to change the selector markings.

I didn't get too good a look at it.  Only the shelter teams had them, I was out directing maintainers so no rifle for me.  I'll try to get a better look during our next exercise.

Note the foot in the second picture, in true ARFCOM style!

Now if you could find a GUU-5/P (Frankencarbine) we would really like to see pix.

Do you have a picture from the right side?  I want to see if the USAF is still using the M16 without the forward assist.

That rifle has an A2 upper assembly, so it has forward assist. Notice the elevation drum in the first picture.

No luck there, just a pic of my GUU clone back in the US.

I hope I get some time to shoot when I'm home on mid-tour!

I've seen piles of desecrated 603/4s in various AF armourys.

I don't know anything about the serial number, but if it's partial fence, which I believe it is, '64, '65, or '66.

I wan't to say it was a full fence.

Just another reason you should take more pictures of it.

They should break them out in another few months, I'll see what I can do.
