I ran into a Colt the other day, and am having no luck in finding a year of production online.

It is a Colt AR-15 A2 carbine, skinny barrel, two-position stock on a mil-spec (measured 1.14) buffer tube, large hammer/trigger pins, fixed carry handle with A2 rear sight, one-screw front pivot pin, sear block marked "Colt", ser. # GC0184XX.

Not on Colt's site that I can find.

I am thinking it is a post-ban blue label gun. No box to confirm.

Any help ?

According to Colt - production date of 10/27/1994.

Post-ban.  They couldn't explain the bayonet lug, yet lack of LEO-Restriction marking.  But so close to the enactment of the ban, probably made with leftover parts or receiver.  Original Colt, though, not a mix-master.
