I bought a mid-length troy drop in rail. I installed it this evening, and realized it was the hardest fucking thing I had installed on the whole gun. The upper rail like to never got aligned with the receiver, and the bottom piece was too big to fit in the endcap, so I had to take my pliers to the cap. The rails got scratched up in several areas, and it was all I could do to get the 2 pieces to drop inside the delta ring, line up properly, and get the screws put in. I still think the rail is canted ever so slightly to the left as well. I also busted my knuckle in the process, so now I am really pissed off

Anybody else have this problem with a drop-in rail? I think it is just easier to do a free float rail

Neg, never had that problem with any drop-in set I've used. If it's canted then your barrel nut is prolly over torqued. Easy fix.
