I was wondering if anyone can give me some insights on a delima i am having. I am building a Ar 308 and looking for another acog for that rifle. I know trijicon makes acog with 308 reticules .The question is could i get a Acog with5.56 recticle and still use it for the 308?
Or would it be better if i just get a dedicated 308 reticules?

It would be a dedicated scope for that rifle but still would like to use it on something else if i decide to sell the 308 later.

Yes and no.  See http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/229420_Bartholomew_Roberts__Big_ACOG_BDC_Chart.html.  I know the .308 carry handle BDC (the one on the TA01B) is a very close match for 77 grain 5.56/.223 rounds out of a 16" flattop AR.  I don't know if there is a BDC that will work well with  both .223 and .308 flattops.

I'd just get the right .308 BDC for the .308 and not worry about trying to use it with a .223/5.56

Get a .308 reticle.
If you sell the .308, sell the ACOG.  Seems silly to try to make a 5.56 reticle work on a .308 unless you plan to swap back and forth (even that wouldn't make sense as you'd have to re-zero every time....)
