I bought a winter trigger guard and was going to install it but couldn't get the pin from the original flat guard free. I didn't want to hammer the bejeezus out of the receiver to get it out. From the manual it doesn't appear that there is any trick to this but I thought I'd check here.

Support the back side of the boss where the pin will exit from with something that has a hole in it to: absorb the blow and allow the pin to pass through.

Same if re-installing pin as far as supporting back side of boss while punching pin in.
