I am putting together my first stripped lower.

I have read the info on this site, and have the bushmaster assembly dvd.  Neither answers my question. .....

I have a Stag lower parts kit, and the pins each have two groves in them kind of halfway across the lenght of the pin, and then the rest of the pin is smooth.

Which end of the pin goes in first and from which side??  They seem to work either way but those grooves must be there for something???

Thanks!

They work from either side, and the grooves will be caught by spring legs.

+1 as long as the hammer springs catch one of the grooves

When you put the hammer pin in, it's best to put the ungrooved end in first. That way, you don't have to force the end groove past the hammer's J-pin to get to the center groove.
