How were the original style FH's torqued down? They have no flats like the 5.5" models.

use the flash suppressor slot cut outs, use something like a flat bar inside them to turn the fs....it doesn't take much torque to tighten down the thing.

Ordered both up from BM for a build. Discovered I couldn't use the "original" style. Also noticed the lack of flats.

I think I have the biggest spare parts box around.

That looks OK but too late! I ordered both up because I figured I could use the smaller "original" from BM to get legal length. As it turns out, it would be a little short using the 11.5" barrel. Had to go with the extended 5.5". Not worth sending the shorter one back to BM. I'l just hang onto it.
