looks mighty nice.    is the barrel turned down under the handguards, or is it heavy under there?

I'm interested in seeing the barrel markings. Is she Chrome-lined?

Did she come with that extra-mag-holder-contraption? It's hiding the S&W emblem.

How much?

The S&W reps had a booth at one of the local gunshows last weekend.  They had the new m-4 type rifle available for just under a grand.

That thing has the lightest M4 contour barrel I have ever handled.  We took down a DPMS, Bushmaster, and Stag at a local shop and the barrel was thinner on the S&W.  I like it!

Did that stock come standard with it?

I thought they were going withe the M4 type stock?

Barrel markings:  "5.56 NATO 1/9"

The extra mag holder I added myself after I got her home, it's the Redi-Mag.

Dealer wanted $1450.00 OTD

I got it for $212.00 OTD after I traded my Colt 6520 in.

There was only (1) one M&P Tactical @ the Harrisburg gunshow on Sunday.  This has a three digit serail number too!

No, I replaced the stock as well.  It comes witht he standard M4 style marked S&W.  I like the look of this better and it also has compartments for extra batteries.

We had a MP15T in the shop about 3 weeks ago. Its a real nice package off the shelf. We got $1450 for it. Enjoy the rifle. The MP15 we have in the shop right now has 666 as the SN#.

Really Interesting how S&W put their name everywhere, but I like it... I've taken a really liking to the M4 with the 9.0 rail and the gasblock hidden under there.

eta: extra $100.00 as downpayment.  for a total of $300.00 (found some extra cash)

That's one of those truly evil black rifles that we've been hearing about in the press. Keep it under wraps.

She's a mighty fine looking weapon, can't wait for a range report. Would also be interested in what the bolt carrier looks like, is it a semi carrier, full circle, cut, or full auto?

Thanks for posting.

Insante,

Nice rifle!  The S&W rep at the All Army Championships had the same model there to look at.  Serial number was a 0003XX also.  Smith did put a nice package together.  Only thing I didn't like was the 1/9 twist but that's a personal thing.

Hey man, I fingerbanged your girlfriend...... uh, I mean your weapon at the Harrisburg gunshow. I was impressed by the weapon. On first glance I thought the price was high, but I guess it's not too bad when you add up all the "extras". Finish was smooth and even, and the upper to lower fit was very tight. It's true about the S&W logo being everywhere. It's even on the rail covers. Congrats on your purchase.

Give us a range report when you get a chance.

Did you do any actual accuracy testing off of sandbags, etc? If so, what types of 100yd groups were you getting with what ammo?

Anyone know who makes the S&W receivers?

How about the Troy receivers?

i got a 3 digit SN M&P also, have yet to shoot it though.

one question, does your stock extend past the buffer tube when fully collapsed?

is that normal?  mine seems a little "short" but them im a big guy.

its almost like the buffer tube is 1 notch short in over all lenght(has the all the notches though)

i have been told S&W= CMT

Got M4 profile?

I saw the S&W "non gucci" version when they first came out.  I thought it was nice.  I hate 1/7 though...too bad because I like S&W.
