I have a couple of Pre Ban Bushmaster's and I was going to switch uppers around and on the one I can only get the Front Pivot Pin to go in maybe half way and it stops?

Any Tips as to why it is so Tight and how to get it through besides using a Hammer ??

I don't want to damage the lower by forcing it in.

Anyone else had this problem?

What Ya Think I can do?

I've had this happen to me. I used rubbing compound on the pin and slowly turned it over and over until the fit was obtained. Takes some time, but works. Maybe someone else has come up with an easier way????

That detent pin's steel, and that sometimes gives me trouble. I've added lube and gotten some good results. My fit problems, w/ that pin, usually stem from the pin/spring, and not the receiver holes.

I had that problem with a DPMS upper. I used rubbing compound and the shaft(smooth) end of the proper sized drill bit. Turn it by hand and it polishes the hole. Took about 25-30 minutes to get it where the pin would go in with just a little resistance. Some lube and its done.

Maybe I'll try just some good Lube/Oil and see if that works?
