TiN (Titanium Nitride) bolt and carrier - is it worth it?

IMHO, no.

Put the money elsewhere, where it is really needed and/or makes a difference.

I'm from the UK Aviation industry (military) background

The majority of stuff we had with nitride coating was on the undercarriage strut/jack surfaces.

I dont realy see the advantage of this very hard coating on a bolt and carrier when other cheaper options will sufice.

But then again why do people add loads of customised bits and pieces to their guns?

Because they think they look good

I cant argue with that as a reason but technicaly it's not needed
