What kind of errosion can you expect with a 1/7.7 SS barrel? I'm getting some funny numbers with my Stoney Point gage. Is it possible that it could wear .050"?

Yes, But keep in mind that this could be as simple as the throat unifing with the bore (all the lands unifing with each other, or a high reaming bur on one of the land starts that is now gone) .
