Seems to be the Canadian equivalent to the SOPMOD program.

I think there is a picture of one of KevinB's rifles here (the midlength with chopped out front sight area.)

Only accuracy and barrel length/optics vs.range tests and results I have found.

Was the paper written by KevinB?

I don't know maybe he can answer for us, It is one hell of a study if that is the case. And if so, way to go KevinB- it looks like that illusive camo job finally worked out for you. That midlength FF RAS/M4 looks great.

Sounds like the rifle I'm currently building, except I'm using the DD rail instead of the SIR

Hmmm... it says Black Hills MK262 ammo chronos at UNDER 2600 fps and my 14.5" rifle shoots it at an AVERAGE of 2660. My rifle also shoots MOA so I believe the benefits of the midlength 16" are a bit misleading there. The rest of the article is great. Page 8 has a space in the word "la rge" lol

Guys yes indeed - and a hearty thanks to Troy. I am waiting to get some more Mk262 as some of the numbers generated were way off what others got, - the only strange results were from it, not other ammo. We have a rifle/carbine midlife project going, and I an none to thrilled with it - this was my second shot across its bow. Interesting reads... KevinB, good read!

Troy, I know lower temps increase air density and casue more drag over time. I was not aware that cold temps also would result in lower velocity at the muzzle. How much velocity is lost at the muzzle at various temps?

DevL I had trouble with one box of Mk262, unfortunately I had no other number to insert and those stood. After Christmas I should be able to generate some more data with the SPR barrel length and re-shoot the Mk262. -Kevin

Troy, I did have the temp, humidity, Alt and Barrometric Pressure recoded for that day - but It was on the a different page than most of the recording and F knows where it went. Anyway I am stockpilling some ammo for a test Feb/March - I love to be able to head down to Tex and link up with Brou and some others, but my travel plans don't look like it will happen. Plus I am waiting on two new rifles (and 1 I have not ordered yet before I do more testing) -Kevin
