Ok Ok I know how people tend to get all worked up when you ask them what is "best", but

Who makes the "best" 30 rd AR mags?
What is a good price to pay?

I am useing a RRA lower, for record

There is not really a "best AR-15 mag" All USGI mags are built to the same specs. All the GI Contract mags are about the same expect for maybe one exception the labelle teflon mags which have a superior finish.

Some might argue that the HK SA-80 mags are the best.

I always use the labelles, the Thermolds are good quality just stay away from the canadian ones since they are not made of zytel like the US ones (I think)

Expect to pay around $20-$30 a piece for New in Wrapper USGI mags

www.eaglefirearms.net has really good prices otherwise check out the equipment exchange.

Take a look at the FAQ that is tacked at the top.

I think Troy's got a pretty good handle on answering your questions.

I like to get O'KAY brand USGI magazines. The reason is that the detent hump under the latch hole has a squared-off character to it. The detent hump on some of the other brands I use tends to be more rounded and the mags will not always drop free from my Bushmasters, but I have never had problems with the O'Kay's(and the Colt's-made by O'KAY).

I heard the labelle GI mags were the best. That's what I bought and they rock. Sorry didn't buy any others to compare to.
