Some goodies came in the mail today.
 2 gen 3 uppers and an 11" NSR rail. Pretty happy with the price I paid for the uppers.  And no, before anyone asks, I am not interested in reselling these. I'm one of those "always buy, never sell" types. I'm trying to decide between an NSR 9" and an NSR 13.5" rail for the 2nd upper. Neither are in stock right now so I have some time to think about it. 9" is sexy, obviously, for the DEVGRU clone, but 13.5" also sounds nice to me because I might want to try a different cartridge, maybe 6mm ARC. I dunno... |

Took the N6 out today. Love this gun. Incredibly smooth shooting, and as a southpaw the micro Switchblock is truly like black magic. ZERO gas to the face out of the ejection port.

I've been collecting parts for two separate Noveske builds. The pistol above is my future DEVGRU clone. I still need a BCG, charging handle, optic, FDE trigger guard, buffer extension, and M4-2000. The SilencerCo ASR mount will go on a different rifle. It will be going to Cerakote soon. It was in a different configuration with a Gen 1 upper and the Gen 4 rail a while back. My Gen 4 upper showed up today so I mocked it all up. Luckily Noveske had one in stock on the site about a week ago and I snagged it. They seem to be tough to find in stock. This is going to be a 300blk as the dust cover shows. A few observations. The upper and lower anodizing match closely. The rail is very shiny and doesn't match well with the receivers. I was thinking about giving it the DEVGRU Cerakote treatment and making a what if they used a Gen 4/4 setup rather than a Gen 1/3 for the service rifle. I still need the barrel and a few other parts and then I'm thinking a Sandman-S.
ETA-Change of plans. The GEN 4 will not be a 300blk. I was able to snag a Gen 3 upper and handguard and that will become a 300blk upper. Now to find a Gen 1 lower to go with it. It sucks the B-lines sold out so fast.

10.5” Micro Switchblock absolutely fucks. I’m a lefty and as far as consistency with ejection and gas coming back at me, this is smoother and less intrusive than ANY other suppressed 5.56 setup of any length that I’ve experienced.

This is sort of tangentially related to Noveske, so I figured I would ask here. I'm working on a couple builds at the moment using some Noveske parts. One will be a DEVGRU-inspired build (not exactly clone correct), so I bought a gen 3 upper and NSR rail for that one. Another build will just be a bit of a mish-mash of parts, but it will also have a gen 3 NSR rail since I have an extra one lying around. However, for this build, I don't care for the gaudy Noveske branding on the upper, but I still want all the lines between the upper and rail to match up, so I'm looking for a SMOS upper that's more low-key. Does anyone know where to find one? Seems like they're super rare these days and might even be discontinued. I know Simple Man Armory sold blems, but I'd like to get my hands on a new non-blem specimen if possible. All I'm seeing is out of stock listings from retailers I've never heard of before like Firearms4Less. Am I out of luck here?

It could be that the factory "clone" had a black barrel and I got mixed up on specs:  I also scoured Noveske's IG for up close shots on the OG rifle, but someone put the polymer keymod covers on and it's hard to see what's underneath:   If it's true it was just the factory bead blasted finish, oh well, I'm not taking mine apart to strip the awesome paint job I did on the barrel
