Show Admission: $6.00

7 Thermold H21s & 3 H22s: $200 (bargained from $22.50 each)

Tax: 6.00 (he was willing to eat the rest)

Total: 10 Thermolds & admission for $212

Granted in days like these the price will likely be a ripoff one week & a bargain the next, but how did I do overall?

For that price you could have gotten new in wrapper USGI mags.

Not where I'm at. These fools want $25 - $35 for them. As a matter of fact, I don't see that kind of deal on EE either.

You didn't piss away $50. Do you feel better now? As long as you feel happy with the purchase then that is all that matters.

Phew - I thought you were going to say you'd bought a bunch of USA-brand steel mags. You didn't get a great deal, but you didn't get hosed either, IMHO.

I'm seeing the EE full of Thermolds for ~$20...Heck, I just bought 3 that were NEW for $21 each...

Yes, that was a sigh of relief for me that I didn't come off too bad. What I was referring to was a NIW USGI magazines for $20. I don't think I have ever seen that, and if I did, I suspect it would have 15 min too late as someone would surely have grabbed them immediately.

At a NY gunshow I happen to know tax agents took several vendors down for not charging sales tax and failing to remit. I know this because one of the vendors was dumb enough to say to me that he wouldn't charge me the tax and we would screw the government together. I said thanks and told him I prefered to pay the tax... the guy standing next to me was a tax agent... laughed my ass off as he was read his rights.

At a gun store by my house Thermomolds go for around $20 and used GI mags for around $22. Thats a good deal around here.
