SWEET !! (and tag)

I love the regular ELCAN I have had for years, and this dual-purpose scope has me fascinate (and my bank account worried).

Does the DR co-witness with the BUIS?

Thanks

I don't think cowitness is possible since I *think* this isn't a true 1x scope.  Also, with eye relief and the like, it'd be kinda tuff to deploy an iron sight and use the scope at the same time.  Some one will be along to correct me if I'm wrong...

From the looks of it, it has its own BUIS on the top. I was interested in this optic, but it looks a little large for my tastes....I'll have to handle one first.

Is this only a 1x or 4x scope with the throw of a lever, or is it a variable whereby you also get 2x and 3x?

Nice!

I would like to see more information on this scope.
Does anyone have a link?

Here's a brouchure:

elcan.phpinternet.com/specter_DR/SpecterDR1.pdf

Looks like fixed 1x or 4x, with no in between.  Windage and elevation controls, illumination switch, and a simple iron sight as well.

I find it funny how everyone TRASHED this new variable power Elcan in a few ARFCOM threads when news of it first came out.  People were saying with it's external adjustments it wasn't worth spit.  I don't have a dog in this fight so I don't care, in fact I like the concept and would buy one if I had the coin but I don't.  My point is, as soon as a well respected company like POF-USA puts one on their piston uppers and does an evaluation, all the detractors suddenly SHUT UP.

Keep up the good work POF and I would like to hear more of your evaluation.

As long as it's NV Capable, it sure sounds like a solution to a real problem!

I want one now.....  I hope they get to market soon.  Grrr

I would like to get one but I think the MSRP was around 1600.00.
Even at a "Deal" price of about 1100 to 1200 it's too rich for me.
Hell, it took years for me to put up the money for an ACOG, but I must say, it was worth it.

This optic is a 1X to a 4X system. It also has a luminated dot or reticle.
The dot is a 1.5 MOA and works very nice when shooting at distances.
The 4X optic is extremely clear.

You're a good salesman...  want to sell yours?  ;)

Misterjp:
It co-witnesses just below dead center. (Troy ind.)

0612Devil:
This system is a true 1x and you are able to use the BUIS sights or
you can also use the fixed sights mounted ontop of the Elcan "DR" optic.

Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks.

I played with them at SHOT but with the blue plastic dummy guns they where mounted I could not tell.

Take care
