Anybody that owns a Surefire M962/M961 weapon light please let me know what you think of it? Also what do you use to mount it and in what position do you mount it? Thanks

Love my 962.  Blinding center core of light, but the outer ring doesn't overpower a room.  I much prefer the ARMS throw lever mount to screws that have to be checked constantly.  I positioned it at 3 o'clock on my RAS because I activate it with my thumb off the VFG and being right handed, I tend to favor left side cover.  When it weighs only mere ounces over the 6v systems, there are few reasons to not go 9v except for on the shortest of guns for the compactness.

I love them.  I like the throw lever much better than the thumbscrew though.  I was going to try the turbohead, but just ordered the 972 instead so I could have another 3 cell.  I also like the pushbutton tailcaps.  In a pinch more than once, I have removed my 962 in a moment and used it for a handy flashlight.

As you can see, I use the 962 QD lever mount, and it's at 3 o'clock.  Having it at 9 o'clock interferes with my sling.  On 16" uppers it takes up too much space for my taste to have it at 6 o'clock, though I have mounted 952's there before.  On longer uppers I usually reserve the 6 o'clock position for bipods as you can see.

I just bought a 962, and I like it a lot! Like others, I didn't use the tape switch, instead opting for the click type tail cap which I can easily access with my thumb.
